QUEZON CITY, Philippines – President Rodrigo Duterte appointed Atty. Hanica Rachael Arshia J. Ong as the Deputy Executive Director IV of the Human Settlements Adjudication Commission on 07 July 2020 and she officially assumed her position on 15 July 2020.
Atty. Ong is now in charge of the Office of the Executive Clerk that provides legal, technical, and administrative support to the Commission En Banc and its divisions in the review, deliberation, resolution, and issuance of its decisions, and assists the Executive Commissioner in the administration and operation of the Commission and its Regional Adjudication Branches, among others.
Her service in the government started when she served as the Chief of Staff of former Chief Executive Officer and Commissioner Lloyd Christopher A. Lao of the now-defunct Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB). During her time in HLURB, she also served as the chairperson of the Socialized Housing Committee and a member of the Human Resource Merits, Promotions, and Selection Board.
She also worked for an accounting firm in Makati City before her appointment in HLURB providing business tax services.
Atty. Ong is a graduate of the University of San Carlos School of Law in 2015 and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2016.
