QUEZON CITY – The Human Settlements Adjudication Commission was awarded as an Outstanding Accounting Office on Tuesday, 04 October 2022.

Finance Service Officer-in-Charge Marizel B. Correos accepted the award with Accounting Division OIC Venus P. Liwanag, from Commission on Audit Commissioner Roland C. Pondoc, during the awarding ceremony held at the Radisson Park Inn Hotel.

To qualify for the award, the Association of Government Accountants of the Philippines (AGAP) carefully examines the quality, timeliness, and accuracy of financial reports of government agencies. The HSAC is among the 22 national government agencies which received the award for calendar year 2021.

Meanwhile, Executive Commissioner Melzar P. Galicia said this award is a clear reflection of the values the HSAC stands for. He emphasized that HSAC employees must always be committed to the public interest as the agency performs its mandate and upholds the constitutional provision that affords everyone the right to a speedy disposition of cases before any quasi-judicial body.

“Your values will be tested, especially since everything you do is subject to accounting and audit rules, which is why it is important for us to stick to our code of ethics,” Correos advised those who want to enter public service.

In 2019, the HSAC’s predecessor, the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB), was previously inducted into the AGAP’s Hall of Fame for Outstanding Accounting Offices.
