Commissioner Michael P. Cloribel, is a lawyer by profession. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Commerce-Management Accounting from the Ateneo de Davao University, and his Bachelor of Laws Degree (Ll.B.) from the Ateneo de Davao University College of Law.

He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2010. Commissioner Cloribel is a dedicated public servant, and member of the academe. He sat as a member of the People’s Law Enforcement Board in Davao City and has served as a Consultant on Political Affairs in the Office of the City Mayor of Davao. He was also a professorial lecturer in International Studies at the Ateneo de Davao University.

In 2016, he was appointed as Commissioner of the Governance Commission for GOCC’s (GCG) and was primarily the in-charge of the Corporate Governance Office of the Commission. As a GCG Commissioner, he sat as an ex-officio member of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Board.

On March 09, 2022, he was appointed as the 5th Commissioner of the Human Settlement Adjudication Commission. An advocate of good governance, Commissioner Cloribel is pushing for the modernization, rationalization and strengthening of the Commission in order to adapt to the demands of the current times in effectively and efficiently performing the Commission’s mandate.
